EMU Running Science Lab Study

The Eastern Michigan University Running Science Laboratory is conducting a study on the determination of Critical Speed and you have been recognized as a potential subject. To complete the study, trained runners from the Ann Arbor-Ypsilanti area are needed.

This study will take place at Bowen Fieldhouse (located in the Warner building on the campus of EMU) and will require each participant to run maximal trials of 3600, 2400, and 1200 meters with 30 minutes rest in between each trial. The time recorded from each run will then be used in an equation to determine critical speed. Your participation will require approximately 1.5-2 hours.

Attached below is a consent form that provides more information regarding the procedures, risks, and benefits of the study. If you are interested in participation or have any questions regarding the study please contact Steve Hammond at shammon7@emich.edu or Dr. Stephen McGregor at smcgregor@emich.edu.

Thank you for your consideration.
